Meet our guest
Name: Tracy Lamourie
What they do: Founder and Managing Director of Lamourie Media Inc. a Universal Women’s Network 2020 Woman of Inspiration Winner for the Women In Media award, and the author of the upcoming book GET REPPED – Build Your Brand With Effective Public and Media Relations.
Fun fact: Tracy and her husband used to work as reporters at university, developing a journalistic mindset. In the early days of the Internet, they came across a man on death row who claimed to be innocent. They investigated his case and gathered information, but at the time, they didn’t have the resources to widely disseminate it. In response, Tracy’s husband taught himself to create websites, while Tracy honed her skills in writing press releases and reaching out to media outlets. As a result of that story, they were able to secure coverage on a wide range of major national news outlets in the United States, despite it being a difficult feat at the time. Wrongful convictions were not yet a widely discussed topic in those days. This was the beginning of Tracy’s career. The man in question was eventually released from prison in 2017 after 18 years.
