.COM extension is the preferred choice among the companies on our list, with 587 out of 824 securing a .com domain name for their online presence. Customers worldwide naturally tend to trust .com as it has been dominating the internet for decades.

32 companies operate on .CO – the country extension for Colombia. There are no strict policies to register a .CO domain; the domain name must be greater than 3 characters and up to 63 characters and can be registered by anyone.

The popular extensions for tech startups .IO and .AI were chosen by 43 and 31 companies, respectively. .io is the extension for British Indian Ocean Territory. It has gained popularity with startups in recent years, even though, according to many, it faces an uncertain future.

466 companies out of 824 have invested in exact brand match domains, thus making the most out of their marketing across channels and avoiding security risks.

16 companies use a dash in their domains. One of the downsides of using a hyphen in a domain name is that adding it to your domain name makes it harder to reach when typing.
