Edge Gaming, an Israeli video game startup, recently announced a complete rebrand to Ludeo. This change reflects the company’s growth and ambition, as well as its dedication to providing the best gaming experience possible for its community. The company is known for its proprietary technology that allows anyone to cut their most exciting game moments and turn them into standalone gaming units called “Playables.” Alongside the company name, Ludeo also rebranded “playables” to “Ludeos”.

In June 2022, the company secured $30 million in a Series A funding round led by US-based Corner Ventures, and backed by another Israeli games company Playtika. Ludeo was founded in 2021 by brothers Asaf and Omri Gazit and is dedicated to building the next generation of media content.

Asaf Gazit, co-founder and CEO of Ludeo, shared the news on LinkedIn and explained that the name Ludeo is derived from the Latin word “ludere,” which means “to play.”

Ludeo launched on the .gg domain name extension, the country code for the Bailiwick of Guernsey. GG is a common abbreviation for Good Game, so with the rise of online gaming, many startups and game-related projects have started using it for their online presence.
