Harry Duran is the Founder of FullCast, a full-service, done-for-you podcast production, and marketing consultancy. In this interview, Harry shared the story behind his brand, his business name, and why he opted for the domain Fullcast.co.
What is the story behind FullCast?
I started my own show Podcast Junkies in 2014. At the same time, I started working with a business coach and a year later founded FullCast. Using everything I learning launching, producing, and marketing my own show for a year, I created a done-for-you offering targeted at busy business owners looking to build their authority.
When did you start thinking about your brand name and how did you settle on FullCast?
I put ‘full-service’ and ‘podcast together. The idea came to me one day at a mastermind I was attending.
How did you get the domain name Fullcast.co for your brand? Why did you select that one exactly?
While I would have preferred fullcast.com, it wasn’t able and fullcast.co felt like the best option since ‘co’ can be interpreted as ‘company’.
How has owning Fullcast.co affected your business? Do you own any other domain names?
Having a good domain name for my brand has definitely helped! Ha! Definitely own a dozen other names and am always buying ones when the idea comes up.
Who is your target customer and how is your brand name helping in reaching them?
We work primarily with inspiring business owners who are looking to amplify their authority and expand their reach.
How do you keep your brand consistent across different channels online and offline?
I created branding and colors for the show and wherever possible ensured they are showing on our website and all our social channels.
Has the pandemic affected your company in any way? What has changed since?
Like many other businesses, we had clients pause and leave. But it has given me strength and resilience to keep things going and since the pandemic, I’ve actually been able to systemize our operations and brought on an operations manager.
What do you do to make sure your marketing is effective?
I spend a dedicated amount of time on certain channels where I feel comfortable engaging on a daily basis. My primary ones are LinkedIn and Twitter. I track every lead that comes in on Copper, our CRM.
What would your advice be to entrepreneurs who are just starting out, in general, and when it comes to branding and naming?
Spend some time on a name that speaks to what your offer is. Grab the corresponding social handles and even while you’re still in the process of building your business, build up thought leadership by picking one platform, and post your ideas daily.
Where do you see your business in the future and how does your brand name fit into that vision?
I see FullCast continuing to grow and serve small business owners and provide that full-service offering which allows them to focus on their genius!
