Our guest today is Victoria Landa, founder and CEO of a corporate language training centre that she’s been running for the last 7 years. Victoria is also the creator of an online digital course called OnlineBusinessinADay.com, which shows coaches how to quickly and easily build a website in just a few hours.
Meet our guest
Name: Victoria Landa
What they do: Founder of LV Linguistics, a Belgian-based language school providing corporate language training on-site or online.
Fun fact: Upon graduating with a degree in finance from a Canadian university, Victoria found herself unsure of what to do with her major. She stumbled upon an advertisement for English instructors in Japan on Craiglist. It took her one essay and an interview, and within a month and a half, she was in Osaka.
If I had to give one piece of advice to someone just starting out, it would be to never worry about the competition. There will always be someone doing the same thing as you, and there might even be someone doing it better. But it doesn’t matter. There is room in the market for everyone. Success is all about being in the right place, at the right time, with the right message and a good product. Simple as that.
In this podcast, we discuss Victoria’s diverse background and how she transitioned from a finance graduate in Canada to teaching English in Osaka, Japan, and eventually settling in Belgium. We delve into what inspired Victoria to start her own business and the challenges she faced along the way. Victoria is preparing to launch her latest business venture, OnlineBusinessinADay.com, so we also discuss this new project. We explore common mistakes that entrepreneurs make when starting out and how to effectively deal with them. We also touch on the role of automation and social media in business and the importance of focusing on real customers and seeking out feedback rather than getting caught up in metrics like followers and likes. Victoria shares her approach to naming her businesses and provides insight into the essence of LV Linguistics and OnlineBusinessinADay.com, including who can benefit from its services. She also shares what’s new and exciting for her in 2023.
