Bob Anderson founded The Paper Store in 1964 after purchasing a 700 sq. ft. newsstand in Maynard, Massachusetts. Today, The Paper Store stands as one of the largest family-owned speciality gift retailers in the U.S., operating 100 stores with 3,000 employees across the Northeast and Florida, alongside a strong online store. Its diverse product range includes fashion apparel, accessories, spa, home décor, stationery, jewellery, sports, and more from brands like Vera Bradley, Lilly Pulitzer, Jeep, Life is Good, Vineyard Vines and Pura Vida. In 2020, the company was sold and is now part of TPS Group Holdings LLC.

The Paper Store is now expanding into the Midwest under a new brand, Uncharted, with its first store in Oak Brook, Illinois. In an interview for Wicked Local, CEO Tom Anderson said The Paper Store plans to open 40 to 50 new stores over the next five years, while continuing to invest in existing locations.

We are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers and community for supporting us over the past 60 years. Our expansion plans over the next several years represent our commitment to reinvesting in our community with the same dedication and passion that has defined our family-run business for decades.

It seems the company has also geared up for a strong online presence by securing the Exact Brand Match (EBM) domain Uncharted.com, which is currently redirecting to ThePaperStore.com. This acquisition is important, as the EBM domain is typically what customers enter when searching for a company online, ensuring easy access to the new brand from day one.
