shopDisney Reverts to Original Disney Store Name and DisneyStore.com Domain
By Monica Stankova access_time 2 min read

Disney is set to bring back a touch of nostalgia by reverting the name of its online shopping hub, shopDisney, back to the iconic Disney Store. Announced on the shopDisney website, this change is part of a larger strategy to unify Disney’s various retail elements under one brand name.

Disney-owned shops, ecommerce, shop-in-shops and outlets are coming under one brand name: Disney Store. This will be the official shopping destination where you can shop the stories you love from across our brands. Retail locations, including but not limited to World of Disney and others within Disney Parks will remain directly affiliated with the Park location where they reside.

shopDisney had officially replaced the Disney Store’s online retail website back in 2017. Following the rebrand, the primary URL for the retailer will shift from shopDisney.com to DisneyStore.com.

Considering the wide array of sub-brands and services under the Disney umbrella, it comes as no surprise that the company oversees an impressive array of more than 202,000 domain names. This extensive assortment of domains is key in safeguarding the various facets of Disney’s brand. It underscores the company’s commitment to upholding a robust and reachable online presence, which is essential for the vast and varied nature of its entertainment empire.
