By Monica Stankova access_time 1 min read

RentPath is a leading rental industry digital marketing solutions provider. Its network of rental listing services includes Rent.com, Rentals.com and ApartmentGuide.com. The company was acquired by Redfin in April 2021 for $608 million.

After its significant growth in the last year, RentPath announced a rebrand to Rent. and has updated its primary website, Rent.com. Along with the rebrand, Rent has rolled out a series of new products and features.

Not only have we expanded our offerings, we’ve also dramatically improved and built upon our existing products, including a new Rent.com website and mobile app which deliver the fastest experience in the industry to move renters seamlessly through their journey.

Jon Ziglar, CEO of Rent

According to Wikipedia data, Rent.com was founded in 1999 as Viva.com, and in December 2004 it was bought by eBay for $415 million. On May 8, 2012, RentPath, then known as Primedia, acquired Rent.com from eBay for approximately $415 million.

Some of the most successful companies have simplified their names over the last decade.

This is the company’s most significant evolution in a nearly 50-year history of serving the rental industry. This is much more than a name change. It is the outward signal of our evolution from an advertising company to a technology and software driven company.

Jon Ziglar, CEO of Rent
