PokerPowher.com Beats Traffic Leaks with PokerPower.com
By Kristina Mišić access_time 2 min read

PokerPowher is a women-led company that teaches women how to play Texas Hold’em and then helps them translate their newfound poker skills to compete and succeed in business, finance, and so much more. The company was founded in 2019 by Jenny Just of investment firm PEAK6. Given the rise in female unemployment during the pandemic, no doubt Poker’s strategic savvy could come in handy.

In August 2021, the company announced that it dropped the letter “H” from its name on its Twitter account. Along with this change, the platform logically decided to acquire a matching domain name as well. By upgrading from PokerPowher.com to the EBM (Exact Brand Match) domain PokerPower.com, this brand has undoubtedly ruled out any possibility of their users ending up on the wrong site due to confusion about the added letter in the name.

Removing the “h” that stands for “her” as a made-up word from “power + her” can also be seen as part of a recent trend where female-led brands are removing the descriptive words from their names as a way to instill confidence. The recent rebrand of The National Women’s Hockey League to Premier Hockey Federation is a good example of that.

We felt it’s time for our players to be defined by their talent and skill, It’s not like they’re female phenomenal. You’re just phenomenal.
