Swedish startup H2 Green Steel has rebranded to Stegra, reflecting its purpose of decarbonising hard-to-abate industries. According to the firm’s statement, Stegra represents three distinct platforms: Green hydrogen, green iron and green steel.
The team continues to prove that it is possible to do more and to change things fast, also in an industry that has for a long time been considered difficult to decarbonize. As we continue this journey, we leave our more descriptive project name behind, and take on the name Stegra, which reflects our long-term ambitions.
Henrik Henriksson, CEO of Stegra
According to CEO Henrik Henriksson, the new name, which means “to elevate” in Swedish, embodies” the team’s spirit to rise in the face of challenges and always continue to move onwards and upwards.” It also honours the company’s Swedish roots, originating in Boden.
As part of its long-term strategy, the company is exploring potential projects outside of Sweden. These projects are characterised by locations with abundant renewable energy resources and strong grid connections, where customers need support in decarbonising their value chains. Potential locations include Portugal, Canada, and Brazil.
As part of the rebrand, Stegra secured the Exact Brand Match (EBM) domain, Stegra.com. This move is important as consumers typically search for the EBM domain when looking for a company online. Stegra.com allows for a smooth transition for current clients and partners while strengthening the recognition and impact of the new brand identity.
