FitOn is a free fitness app founded in 2019. The app offers workouts and personalized fitness plans absolutely free. There are paid features and upgrades and most of the workouts can be done at home with minimal equipment.
With that much to offer and the pandemic, there is no wonder FitOn now has over 10M members who have completed over 1+ Billion workout minutes on the platform. Founder Lindsay Cook is an ex Fitbit executive, so not a newbie in the fitness space.
As a busy working mom, I realized that making it to my favorite studio classes had become seemingly impossible. When I searched online for more accessible and practical workouts, I was disappointed in the quality and lack of motivation that existed. Hence the inspiration behind FitOn. Now, no matter what challenges life throws your way, our world-class trainers, rich content and engaging social tools will help you reach your fitness goals—all in the palm of your hand, literally.

The app initially launched on the .app domain extension. New domain name extensions allow for flexibility and you are more likely to find your brand name available at lower cost. Inevitably though you go against the natural flow of how the majority of users act. To combat that and protect their brand FitOn also secured fitonapp.com. Sometime in 2021 the startup invested in FitOn.com – the best name for their business, making a clear commitment that they are here to stay for the long run.
In February 2022 FitOn announced a $40M Series C funding and the acquisition of the corporate wellness platform Peerfit. The new investment brings the company’s total funding to $70 million and it looks like they’re just warming up.
