Domain Names Highlights

Most companies (195 out of 220) have chosen to operate on the widely recognised .com extension. The .com extension provides global reach and is often the most intuitive choice for users, an essential marketing factor. 

A smaller proportion of companies (25 out of 220) have chosen alternative extensions like .io and .ai, commonly used within the tech sector. While these alternatives offer more availability, they can present challenges if a company seeks to expand its portfolio of global presence over time. 

187 companies have invested in Exact Brand Match (EBM) domains, further strengthening their brand identity. EBM domains ensure a seamless connection between the brand name and its web address, building trust, improving memorability, and enhancing customer engagement by creating a consistent and authoritative digital presence.

The preference for .com and EBM domains reflects the strategic importance of securing a strong, recognisable, and scalable online identity.
