Databook was founded in 2016, by long-time friends Alex Barrett and Anand Shah. The goal was to build an AI-powered SaaS platform that automated and augmented smart pitches with targeted market insights.
Anand shares in an interview the idea was to try and make money before they raise money. And you can tell as with many ideas, their domain name was a reflection of that. Many entrepreneurs struggle to justify investing in premium domains when their idea is not yet tested. The business launched on TryDatabook.com – a pretty literal reflection in that case!
Fast forward to 2022, Databook is by for not just « trying » but succeeding in delivering amazing results for a customer base generating over $300 billion in sales revenue each year , and clients like Salesforce, Microsoft and Databricks. It’s not a surprise that they have smartly secured Databook.com. We are not sure when exactly but the latest whois change for the domain seems to be in October 2021. In any case the brand has cemented its presence with a solid brand and a recent funding of $50 Million in Series B.
