Founded in 2018 as Propertymate.ai, NewHomesMate launched in 2020 to help homebuyers search, compare, and purchase new-construction homes in the U.S. It pairs AI-powered matchmaking with expert guidance to streamline what can be a complex process. The Austin-based startup now operates in over a dozen cities, its service spans more than 90 percent of available new home inventory and has raised millions to expand further.
The Strategic Reset
In late 2024, NewHomesMate rebranded for the second time as Jome after raising a $9.8 million Series A, bringing total funding to around $16.5 million. The decision was driven by persistent mispronunciations, brand confusion, and the desire for a name that could more meaningfully connect with homebuyers and scale internationally.
Many clients and even some employees consistently made mistakes in the name, which significantly limited marketing opportunities.
Bohdan Hnatkovskyi, founder
The name Jome was chosen to evoke joy, optimism, and the excitement of stepping into a new place for the first time. Per the founders:
Jome embodies the joy of a new home. It’s that indescribable feeling when you step into a new place for the first time, filled with excitement, optimism, and endless possibilities.
The name is short, memorable, emotionally resonant and aligns beautifully with the platform’s mission.
Domain Power in Action
As part of the rebrand, the company secured the Exact Brand Match domain name Jome.com. This upgrade strengthens their brand presence, makes them easier to find online, and creates consistency across customer touchpoints. A short, clear domain is easy to remember and positions the company for growth in the competitive real estate technology space.
